MADRAS CAFE OFFICIAL TRAILER OUT NOW:

MADRAS CAFE OFFICIAL TRAILER OUT NOW:

Madras Cafe, sounds as the name of a restaurant but wait, this actually is the name of the latest movie which is produced by Viacom18, John Abraham & Ronnie Lahiri. The trailer of Madras Cafe released yersterday and it promises a fine political thriller film, to say the least. At the event of the launch, Shoojit Sircar (Director) said that this is a new genre for him and also an uncluttered one when it comes to the kind of movies made in India.
He said that everybody involved in the project has worked with sincerity and have tried to push the envelope of creativity when it comes to quality filmmaking. Everybody who was present at the venue was curious to know why the film was titled Madras Cafe. To which Shoojit Sircar replied that it is a name of a place in the movie which is a strategic plot point of the story. The trailer certainly shows some great cinematography and is also reminiscent of the great war films like Platoon (1986) & thrillers like The Missisipi Burning (1988).
John Abraham suits the role of an intelligence agent caught in the nexus of civil war. This film also has a backdrop of terrorism; although the film is,fictional but the context of the story is based on real events. John Abraham (a RAW agent) sets off to a war torn island on an important national mission. Extensively shot in India and Sri Lanka, it seems like one of those new wave films of Hindi Cinema which focuses on the subject rather than fancy storytelling. John Abraham is confident about the movie and credits the writers for writing such an amazing script as the story was in development for almost 6 years. Nargis Fakhri plays a wartime journalist in the movie and this is an opportunity for her to showcase her talent, after she was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar.
With so much of hardwork that went in the making, August is not too far when the film opens in theaters and the audience goes to watch an intelligent, sharp thriller that the trailer promises and then decide for their own whether the movie holds the suspense long enough.
Have a look at the trailer and give us reviews in the comments section

  1. When done right, few combinations have the allure of fact meets fiction. The veracity of one pitched against the ingenuity of another can produce awe-inspiring results. This movie surely deserves an audience.
